My sister forwarded this site to me and I'm glad she did. It is great! I spent summer vacations at The Lake as a child and well into my teens. One story which I heard from my Dad was about the man who made a diving helmet out of a boiler. The story went that he was dropped down in the lake with a weight attached and when they pulled him up he was dead. My Dad said a group of people tried to revive him, but it was too late. He said that he was there and was rubbing his feet to try to get his circulation going. I have seen a newspaper article on this, but wondered if anyone else remembers this story. We have lots of stories and fond memories of days gone by at Harvey's Lake. We'd love to have a family reunion there someday. Does anyone know of a place we could rent?

Thank you for this wonderful trip back in time! Our family spent every summer at the Lake. We rented a cottage, and my sister Madelyn and I have beautiful memories of our childhood and teen years. Our Mom and Dad, Katheryn and Harold Eike loved the Lake and had many friends there. Please keep up the good work and thank you for memoralizing Harvey's Lake and Hanson's!

Congratulations on this wonderful site for those who love Harveys Lake. Many would appreciate a second edition printing of Charles' book on HL history.
